Extremal functions for Sobolev Embedding and non-linear problems

We will focus on extremal functions for Sobolev embbedings of 1st and 2nd order and at the eigenfunctions and eigenvalues of corresponding non-linear problems (i.e. pq-Laplacian and pq-bi-Laplacian on interval or rectangular domain). The main results will be the full characterization of spectrum for corresponding non-linear problems, geometrical properties of eigenfunctions and their connection with approximation theory.
