Joint Workshop on Sound and Vibration Simulations in Earthmoving Equipment

20/11/2019
Organizers:
Place: Doosan Bobcat, Dobříš, Czech Republic
Motto: "All models are wrong, but some are useful", George Box

A joint workshop of the Doosan Bobcat Simulations teams and the Group on Fluids Mechanics led by the Institute of Mathematics of the Czech Academy of Sciences will take place on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, in the premises of the Doosan Bobcat company in Dobříš. This international event will be attended by the representatives of the top management of the company from the United States and Korea. We managed to organize it thanks to long-term cooperation between Doosan Bobcat and the Institute of Mathematics of the Czech Academy of Sciences within the Strategy AV21.

The workshop will focus on specific modelling techniques that have the potential of being used in earthmoving equipment sound and vibration simulations, in various parts of the new product development process.  As the practical applications prove, these modelling techniques have limited predictive capabilities due to... more

22nd Colloquiumfest

06/12/2019 to 09/12/2019
Organizers: Marián Fabian, Wiesław Kubiś, Beata Kubiś (Institute of Mathematics CAS, Prague)
Jakub Gismatullin, Krzysztof Krupiński (Mathematical Institute, University of Wrocław)
Franz-Viktor Kuhlmann (Institute of Mathematics, University of Szczecin)
Jan Trlifaj (Charles University, Prague)
Place: Institute of Mathematics CAS, Žitná 25, Praha 1

The 22nd Colloquiumfest devoted to interactions between algebra, model theory, and related topics will take place in the Institute of Mathematics CAS in Prague. The Colloquiumfests have been (approximately) annual meetings organized by varying organizers such as Institut Henri Poincaré, CUNY Graduate Center, Boğaziçi University, Universities of Valladolid, of Heidelberg, and of Hawaii. The first meeting was organized at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada in 2000 on the occasion of the 60th birthday of Murray Marshall. Since 2010 the Colloquiumfest has joined forces with the biannual Czech, Polish and Slovak Conference Series on Number Theory, which created the ALaNT series.
